There's no such thing as a stupid question ~ but some are better than others. Here's a few frequently asked questions and useful answers, too.
WHY should we evaluate governance or management when it takes time away from delivering services?
Evaluation is an investment in performance. The day to day details of service delivery can be overwhelming; monitoring overall process and progress can identify efficiencies and deficiencies that are overlooked in the daily grind. Let an objective analyst gather and analyze data that can shed new light on effective management practices and market trends, allowing you to leverage your strengths. Making informed, strategic decisions will help your agency grow stronger. Change is inevitable, but progress is not.
WHAT is the difference between a logic model and a theory of change?
Logic models are great for organizing inputs and outputs of service delivery tasks. They are useful for monitoring activities and can represent what your agency does.
A theory of change explains how your agency impacts your clients, field, or community. It is a causal model identifying a series of actions which leads to fundamental changes in the way clients interact with your agency and/or with each other.
A logic model is a user guide, where a theory of change is more like a systems blueprint.
HOW do you pronounce your name?
Sida is pronounced: seed-ah. Ly-Xiong is two distinct last names. Ly - pronounced lee. Xiong is admittedly a more difficult one, but can be pronounced simply as song; or a for a slightly closer cultural phonetic, with a soft sh/j sound: shong.
